In the context of its management mission, the Calanques National Park maintains and develops its territory with the help of its partners (local authorities, the French State, other public institutions such as the ONF and the Conservatoire du Littoral, organisations, inhabitants, volunteers). The goals is to preserve the ecosystems and landscapes by fighting against the aggressions they suffer, by promoting their conservation, and by improving the comfort of the user.

The site management plan

The Calanques National Park supports the various public owners and managers of the natural areas in its territory, in particular the department, the towns of Marseille and Cassis, and the ONF. On sites acquired by the Conservatoire du Littoral, it is the manager in title, sometimes in partnership with towns, such as the City of Marseille for Le Frioul, or the town of Cassis for the site of Port-Miou and La Fontasse.

In this context, the Park draws up a site management plan, which provides a vision for the objectives to be achieved in the coming years. The National Park just begun to draw up a management plan for the Cap Canaille site, recently acquired by the Conservatoire du Littoral in the commune of La Ciotat. At the end of this process, the site will have concrete objectives aimed at improving knowledge of the heritage, conserving and restoring it, and opening it to the public while respecting the sites and landscapes.
